My Crafting Ensures I'm Forever Single

Because we know that my crafting brings no boys to the yard, I thought I would share with you my recent endeavors into ensuring that I was forever single. But first, let me tell you how this craft project came to be. One day I was sitting at home and minding my own business (I'd like to take a minute to point out that I always say I'm minding my own business, but it's usually not true. I'm usually minding my cat's business.) when I got an email from one of the craft sites I subscribe to. The email featured 31 fall wreaths to craft. As my mom and I got to talking, we realized we had no fall wreath. As I got to going through the email, I realized they didn't have any awesome fall wreaths either. An idea was born.

I had a wreath lying around and decided that I would make a much more awesome wreath all on my own, without their ideas. I also didn't have a lot of money to do it, so I went out bargain shopping at the Dollar Store and hoped an idea came to my mind. Before I went, I had gone through my crafting supplies and saw a few things for a Halloween wreath, so I thought I'd make one of them, too. The shopping trip was a success, and the following came from it.

First up, we have the fall wreath. For this wreath, I wanted something classy that was truly one of a kind, but had a bit of sparkle to it. I started out with a 9 inch wreath we already had, but normally only cost a few dollars, exactly like the one pictured below.

At the dollar store, I bought some beautiful ribbon and a string of glittered fall leaf garland. I already had some little pine cones that I had picked up for free out of boredom while waiting for my mom to get off the phone one day while we were at a butterfly release. My plan was to cover the wreath in the ribbon, but not overlap it. I would then take and fill in the spaces where the wreath stuck out with the leaves and place the pine cones over top.

Since the ribbon was the good kind with wire through the edges, it made it difficult to wrap the ribbon, as a whole, around the wreath to cover it. As a solution, I cut the ribbon into six five inch strips. I flipped the wreath upside down, put the middle of the ribbon around the part facing the table, and then put hot glue at one end of the ribbon and brought the other up to meet it. I also burned myself with the hot glue gun approximately 972 times because I had to push the ribbon against itself to make it stick, and the hot glue came through. I put each individual piece of ribbon up against each other in the center of the wreath, and left room at the bottom for the focal point.

I then cut a few of the leaves from the garland, which are sparkly, though it's hard to see, and positioned them over the gaps between the ribbon. I overlapped two leaves per gap, sometimes three if I was doing the overlapping on the outside of the wreath. To balance it all out and bring a bit of depth to the color, I took the baby pine cones and placed them over top of the leaves to get this effect.

At the bottom of the wreath, the part where I had not put any of the above things, I started on the focal point. This is a view from the inside out the wreath out.

And this is the head on view. What I did was take three big flowers from the Dollar Store and line them up side by side, cutting their stems to a half an inch and lathering them with hot glue to make sure they stayed, before sticking them into the wreath. To balance it out, I took some smaller flowers from the dollar store of a darker shade and lined the inside and the outside of the wreath just around the three flowers for balance. Because the flowers were from the Dollar Store, the centers of them were nothing to write home about, so I hot glued pine cones into the center to tie together the rest of the wreath.

This was the end product, and it only cost me a total of $4. Had I had to buy the wreath, it would have cost more like $7, but I still think that's a good price considering how much you would pay for an already finished, thousands-made wreath.

Up next was my Halloween wreath. I wanted this wreath to be a little more fun and not as busy. I bought the Dollar Store version of this wreath in a 9 inch, so it wasn't near as nice or as fancy, but that was okay, because it was just the base that I would be covering.

I spent around two hours hot gluing moss onto the wreath and burning my fingers. It wasn't as hard to do as one would think. The moss went right on. When I got the first layer done, I shook the wreath and pulled off the pieces that weren't glued on, and then repeated the process a second and third time. I love how it came out and it was totally worth it, though I do warn that this makes a heck of a mess. After doing that, I took one of the Halloween items I had found and glued it onto the left side of the wreath like so.

I then went to the right side and glued another little kitten I had lying around onto the wreath directly across from the Boo kitty above.

I also had a little witch's broom lying around, so I positioned it right in between where I knew my ribbon would fall, so when the ribbon fell, it looked like this.

One thing that was a must have with this wreath was a really awesome, slightly over-sized ribbon on the top. I got one at the Dollar Store that matched my kitties perfectly, and then tied it and hot glued it on. I wasn't happy with how the center knot looked, so I took a black button and hot glued it to the center of the ribbon, and then glued an orange one in the middle of it to give it flair.

To balance out the large ribbon, I bought a sign at the Dollar Store that went with the theme of the wreath and attached it to the back of the wreath and hung it from the wreath, having the ribbon just skim the top of it so that it all tied in together. The end result was as follows. This wreath also cost $4 for everything you see, aside from the kitties and the broom, but including the sign.

I wish these pictures made them look at cute as they are in real life. I look at the pictures and wonder if I enjoy how they came out, but when I actually look at the wreaths, I love them. I guess maybe it's one of those things where if you make it, you always see the flaws.

So Very Spring

There's two things you should all know about me. I am sew crafty and so terribly punny. That being said, I would like to share my latest adventures in crafting with all of you. With spring in full swing, though it hardly feel like it here, I thought I'd do a special feature to get you all in the springtime mood.

As with every spring, everything starts to bloom, the warm air feels swell, and crap needs cleaned, especially if it's outside crap that's sat through a long winter of neglect. In our case, it's our covered porch and all of the lawn furniture that belongs on it. This year, we had two main problems when scrubbing everything down. The first one problem was the butterflies that hang on the lattice of our porch. Some of the paint was chipping off of them and, in general, they were quite dull. Never being one to know a dull butterfly, I decided to spruce them up a bit. There are three separate ones, each featuring a shot from the front and from above so that you can see the hints of color that were intertwined to make these butterflies pop. Just for the hell of it, I'm going to name the butterflies, because I wouldn't be me if I stopped naming inanimate objects now.

This little baby butterfly shall be Brooke. She looks like a Brooke, right? Right? (Amuse me. You know you want to.)

This butterfly looks more like a Julianne to me. Sweet and pretty.

Last but not least, we have Serinda. If any of you have caught on to the show I'm referencing, then high five and cookies all around. Only, I don't actually have cookies, so they're pretend cookies. Sorry for the false advertisement.

Next up, we have this very lovely chair. This chair has been a bone of contention for awhile now. Mr. or Mrs. chair here had some old, worn out, stained, ugly cushions that had seen better days, but whose insides were in fine shape. The obvious answer to this was to get new cushions, but after years of looking at all times of the year, we realized that we'd have to harvest one kidney each to pay for them. Have you ever priced those suckers? They're uber expensive. For that price, they better clean my house too, but I digress.

Not able to take the cushions anymore, even after scrubbing them until the neighbors began to think that instead of the crazy cat lady, I was the crazy cushion lady, I decided our only option to save them was to cover them with fabric. That was, if we could get the right kind of fabric cheap enough. I set off to Joanne Fabrics (Who I am not associated with, by the way), and started going through their sale fabric. Since they were having a half off sale on the sale fabric (The irony of this was not lost on me.), I was able to find an outdoor fabric for three dollars a yard. For that price, I was able to get enough fabric to cover the two cushions and make a matching tablecloth, all for just $15. That was less than half of the price of one store bought cushion. Win!

Our chair was primarily the color it is in the picture, only the paint was old and worn, and it was cracked and faded. I threw on two coats of Mod Podge and covered it with some outdoor paint. Then I added the newly made chair cushions and VOILA! We had a chair that looked nearly brand new. And, as I'm sure you can see from the picture, this chair and its cushions have been animal approved. They're already adorned with hair and bunched up from the animals making themselves comfortable. Rawr.

The last thing I did for the porch was the tablecloth. I swore at least twelve times and threatened suicide at least thirteen. The tablecloth was an easy sew, but because the tablecloth was so big around, it took me forever to sew the whole way around it. I debated both eating and taking a nap in between sewing it. I even ran out of thread at one time and had to rewind the bobbin. I was happy with the finished product, though. I just didn't feel like ironing it after all of that sewing. Lazy for the win.

Miss Texas Rose

With material this cute, I see crafting in my future.

Also, if you have time, sit down and watch Elvis and Anabelle. It easily goes on my extremely short list of favorite movies, plus Joe Mantegna is incredible in it. It's a must see for all his fans.

I am so obsessed with Twitter and rain boots right now. So obsessed. I am confused as to why real estate agents keep following me on Twitter, but my favorite rain boots are these. Neither of those things are related.

About to Get Beat Up By "Gleeks" and The Needle Apocalypse

I have a very anti-climatic story about coffee. Christmas coffee. And because it is specifically about Christmas coffee, its non-climatic nature is null and void.

Last week, while in Target, I spotted Starbucks Christmas Blend coffee. I was so there, only I didn't have the money to get it. No worries, I'd be getting my money in a few days and I'd come back for it. So I did, only at a different Target, since I sit right smack dab in between two. That Target did not have any of the coffee. I'm going to be dramatic for blogging purposes and say that I was absolutely crushed and astounded by this. I may have even cried a little, you know...for blogging purposes.

No worries, my hopes and dreams could still come true. I would simply go to the other Target, where I was previously at and they had tons, and I'd get it there. A few days went by. I didn't have the chance to get to that Target. My mom was heading that way. You can see where this is going. This should be the happily ever after, only she couldn't find anything but the decaf, so she didn't get it. Again, I became completely over dramatic for blogging purposes only. I also told her I would have been okay with decaf.

She was going by there again yesterday, and by some act of the Christmas Angels from Heaven above, there was still some decaf left and she bought it and brought it home, and now I am in complete coffee bliss. I never had the Christmas Blend before, but I knew I had to try it. It just sounded like I would be drinking Christmas, which should, for all intents and purposes, make my insides light up like a Christmas tree. If my insides were lit up, that meant they were happy, right? Just go with me on this.

Here is my recipe for a fabulous cup of coffee, on top of a fabulous blend. Buy this. I'm sure you can buy this version, which is simply the regular version, but my mom picked the first one up from the Starbucks in Target, even though the receipt was from Target and not Starbucks, where they took the bag, opened it, and ground the beans down to grainy form in front of her, so it may be a little more fresh. I don't know how all of that works. Use a teaspoon and a half per two cups of coffee if you like your coffee strong, but not so much that it gags you. Add a half of a teaspoon of sugar, then a dash of cinnamon. Do yourself a favor and buy some of this. It isn't too chocolaty, but it gives your already pre-spiced, merry coffee a little kick. Add about a teaspoon and a half of this. Top off with some good old whipped cream. I promise, you can still taste the coffee strongly and prominently, but all of these things just make this the happiest cup of coffee on earth. If that coffee turned into an amusement park, it would trump Disney. Sorry, Disney.

And while you're drinking that coffee, you could really get into the Christmas mood and start ruthlessly sewing Christmas presents left and right. If you're like me, you'll quickly realize that you're having issues finding things, because almost a year ago you inherited a sewing machine from your grandmother. If you're me, you'd also decide that now was the time to merge her stuff with your own so that you weren't constantly going through the stuff separately to find out if either one of you owned something you were looking for; you could just go through it together now.

I should have known this was going to be the worst, best idea ever when I decided to do it. I also should have known it would take me no less than four hours. It wasn't my stuff that was a mess, it was hers. The highlight, however, was realizing I inherited over three hundred needles from her. Don't adjust your eyes. After I saw the stack of needles neatly packed inside those little paper packages you used to get for free back in the day, I figured as I took them out and condensed them from over twenty of those to one itty bitty canister to save room, I should start counting. I have no idea what kind of apocalypse she thought she'd need all those needles for that she was saving them, or what the proper sentiment here would be, but uh...I have needles. If anyone ever breaks in, I may not have any good weapons, but I have needles. Don't even get me started on the number of pins she left me.

When I finally escaped needle hell, I was flipping through the channels looking for something to watch. I came across Glee. You guys, I know Glee is major and there's even people affectionately called "Gleeks," but there's always been something on opposite of the show, so I never saw anything but the pilot episode. I know this is hard to believe considering I am a singer, and Jane Lynch is by far my favorite actress. I'm a little pissed at Glee for taking her away and not allowing her to continue to guest star as Spencer Reid's mom on Criminal Minds, where she played a schizophrenic and was amazing at it. But there was nothing on, so I digress.

This is going to sound much dumber when you read it than it sounded in my head, but I did not realize Glee was a musical. Yes, I know, I know. I realized there was an abundance of singing, but I was foolishly mistaken that the show was a real, normal show about the Glee Club and other romances, that led up to a musical they put on at the end of the show, and only at the end of the show. I actually thought I'd like Glee more, but I have a few bones to pick here.

The cast is talented, no doubt, but I think some of the more talented people are not getting the spotlight and I was disappointed. There are also some sequences that are so spot on and amazing, such as this one. That version contains Britney and Madonna singing. Here is the one with the Glee girls singing, minus the video, because I couldn't find it. It was so dead on with the video, and that little blonde can sing. I much prefer the tone of her voice of Lea Michelle's, which is no offense to Lea; she's amazing, but I'm not a huge fan of her tone. That's nothing she can really help, though. I'm sure plenty of people hate my tone, too.

But it seemed like they either hit their stride with a musical scene, or completely missed the mark. The scenes were either really, really incredibly well thought out and bang on, or they were really cheesy and stupid. There didn't seem to be an in between. Sometimes the show became so full of cheese lint that I had to change the channel until the sequence was over. Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's because of my lack of love for musicals, but I must ask, am I the only one that feels this way?

I also ask that no Gleeks kill me. Thank you.

It's Awfully Pretty Inside My Fairy Tale Castle of Snow

Yes, I ran away without really going anywhere. I admit this. I suck. I admit this, too. I also admit that I found this website fun, although it is intended to keep idiots busy. I understand this makes me an idiot and I am okay with that, because I enjoyed chasing the button, although I knew each time I pressed it, it would become harder to catch, therefore it would eventually become impossible to press the button at all. This is probably because I’ve long accepted that inanimate objects are smarter than me.

Although I realize my running away may have seemed unnecessary, others had reasoned their theories on why I disappeared, and decided to share them with me. They are, but not limited to, as follows.

1. I was still mediating that conversation between my friend and my mom about Matthew Gray Gubler’s hair. Let me explain.

On January 16th I posted this on my Twitter, and I quote exactly.

“Currently mediating a convo about Matthew Gray Gubler’s hair between my mom and my friend.”

Then I didn’t update after that. I actually had someone @reply me asking if the reason I hadn’t updated my Twitter lately was because I was still mediating that conversation. My response as of twenty hours ago was as follows, and again I exact quote.

“I know you’re all still wondering. Is she still moderating a convo about MGG’s hair? The answer is yes and no.”

But really guys, my mom and my friend had this odd little conversation about whether he was sexier with short hair, or long hair. Okay, so it technically started when I mentioned my friend thought he was hot, and my mom asked me to ask her if she liked him with long hair or short hair. I asked her through text, she answered, my mom disagreed, I told my friend and she rebuked. Viola, mediation occurred. I have an opinion, but am remaining Sweden, so you guys decide if you like it better long or short, and if you leave it in the comments, I’ll let my mom and friend know.

And no, that friend is not Aunt Bev, which leads me to possible reason 2 of why I haven’t been around.

2. Did your mom and Aunt Bev manage to do something so average that it somehow turned into a debacle and now there are problems in which may or may not involve jail time for those involved?

No, seriously, this was brought up to me. The answer is no. They are still them, but no one has ended up in jail.

Yet.

3. Have to somehow managed to kill yourself off with your talents of klutziness and unparalleled bad balance?

No, no I have not, but my question back to them is as follows. If I had killed myself, did you really think I would get back to you? Their answers? Yep. I love my friends.

4. I just figured you fell down a rabbit hole.

No really, my friend said this to me. It wasn’t even an Alice in Wonderland reference. I am just talented enough that I could somehow fall down and either die, or disappear into a rabbit hole and no one would find it weird, apparently.

5. I just figured you got lost in the snow.

We did have a solid two and a half feet of snow for weeks on end, but I chose not to go out in it. It’s understandable that I could have gotten lost in snow that, if walked in, only Jared Padalecki would look normal human size in, but I refrained. I’m glad my friends have faith in me.

In reality though, you guys, I am not as big of a loser as I’m letting on, but only in this case. My grandma died. For real. She passed away last month and it turned into this huge debacle in which we learned things about her we never wanted to know and left us all more confused than ever. In all of this, not only have I not updated, but I’ve learned only one thing.

I sincerely let my neighbor with the big knockers down when I promised her at the ripe old age of fourteen that I would trick or treat until I was thirty, and come and sing Christmas carols to her every year until she died. I am so sorry for failing you, Big Knockers Lady. Also, if you could please let someone in the neighborhood know your real name, we’d all love it. We really do refer to you as Big Boobs Lady, simply because no one seems to know your name. Unless that is your name. In which case, you’re good.

I also learned that I am talented enough to do one thing that no one mentioned. I can hurt myself without doing anything at all. I currently feel totally useless and hauled up on the couch with awesome ice packs all day. I won’t tell anyone I’m trying to put my room back together after a water leakage incident due to snow, if you won’t. Shh! If you don’t, I promise to leave you with words of advice for free. Oh, who am I kidding? I was going to do that anyway.

1. Up is a deceivingly sad movie about death and the loss of a life partner. You will need tissues for this movie, and preferably should buy a brightly colored box to hug while you watch the movie, in hopes that it will cheer you up somehow. It won’t. Even if there is a dog in the movie named Dug that will haphazardly stop mid sentence and yell SQUIRREL, it still won’t.

2. It’s not just the sellers that suck at Craigslist, as the website suggests. Buyers suck pretty hard too. Let me tell you a story.

My mom decided to sell her bedroom furniture on Craigslist. We did not have pictures yet, so naturally we received emails for pictures. We promptly took pictures of the furniture and posted them on Craigslist, and then joyously let everyone know pictures had been added. They were all on their way down the Yellow Brick Road to finding their perfect furniture, except for one particular woman who insisted there were no pictures. I checked the ad again, but they were clearly there. Other people had emailed me in the meantime expressing their liking for the furniture and their want to come see it based on the pictures. I went back and re-updated the page, just to be on the safe side, only to realize she never went back and looked at the ad after I emailed her and told her I had put pictures up. I emailed her back nicely and told her that the pictures were now there and any errors had been fixed. I didn’t want to make her feel stupid, which in turn, just proved that I was really the stupid one here.

She later emailed me back not once, but twice, apparently because I didn’t answer her first email within ten minutes of her sending it. I felt really bad about this considering I wasn’t near my computer at all when she sent either email, and my magical computer gnomes were on strike for lapse of a paycheck. The first email contained a copy of the Craigslist ad, minus the pictures. This was apparently proof there were no pictures on the ad. The only thing that this proved was that she may have been too lazy to add the pictures to the email. In that same email, coincidentally enough, she also happened to ad the link to my ad telling me to look at that link, because that was the exact page she was on when she copied and pasted my own ad into that email. I clicked the link. The pictures were there. Then came the second email which went exactly like this:

"I looked on Craigslist to find your listing and emailed it to you. It says that the listing has a pic, (photo) but there are no photos when you click on the listing. Could you just email them directly? Your email to me lists attachments, but there are none. Maybe you have to check your email and confirm changes to your listing."

This is an exact copy and paste. Names have been left out to protect the not so innocent; those guilty of needing a little chlorine in their gene pool, if you will. Let me notate the particular gems of this email, in case you haven’t noticed them yourself.

*It’s obvious that I must not know what a pic is, because she had to tell me that a pic was a photo. I would like to share with her that she used incorrect punctuation and sentence form when doing so.

*When I click on the link she sent me, I get pictures, so obviously we are not looking at the same ad, even though we are.

*I never sent her any attachments, and also kept copies of all the emails I sent her. They did not list attachments either, at least not my end. This tells me she’s a little more than slightly confused about how to use a computer.

*She passive aggressively decides to tell me that it’s obvious the problem lies in me, even though she’s the only one who can’t see the pictures. Hmm.

*No matter what I did, she obviously couldn’t correctly identify if there was an attachment attached to her email, so it wasn’t worth my time to email her pictures.

I nicely emailed her back and told her our furniture was not for her, being as she was the only one not seeing the pictures. I was kind, but returned her passive aggressive manner, and then promptly decided not to communicate with her any longer. Oddly enough, we got an email an hour later from a woman who fell in love with the furniture because of the pictures. She came out to see the furniture the next day and took it on the spot at full asking price. Take that, “There Are No Pictures,” lady. Take that.

3. Never, ever under any circumstances tune out when your mom and your friend are discussing your friend’s potential purchase of a home. You might just tune back in in time to hear your friend go, “I MAY NEVER GO OUTSIDE!,” and have no idea what they’re talking about.

4. If you’re ever unsure about a book you’re reading, pulling up reviews online for further insight may only confuse you more. I shall elaborate.

I am currently reading a fictional book that pertains to the subject of spiritual warfare, and intertwines with talking about Him. The book was so different and unusual that I decided I wanted to see what others thought about it, because I honestly had no idea what to think of it. For once in my life, I was speechless. I ended up coming across a review on a blog from a woman who was quite angry at the author of the book for portraying spiritual warfare as violent, and then went on to rant how this went completely against the Bible’s rendering of spiritual warfare. I don’t know what Bible she’s reading, but I think it left out Revelations. Either that, or she thought it was called spiritual warfare just because someone got a kick out of calling it that, and all those violent and unpleasant terms used in the Bible referring to it were really just code words to scare people, when really they meant sunshine and lollipops, as well as unicorns farting rainbows. When I finish the book and make a decision on how I feel about it, I will then share what I’m reading with you all. It’s just one of those books.

5. If you are a millionaire who decides to put himself on The Millionaire Matchmaker, and you wear shirts two sizes too big, pants that are also two sizes too big and aren’t meant to be capris, but come nowhere near your ankles, and Ed Hardy shoes that resemble a woman’s Mary Jane’s, don’t brag about what a hot bod you have, and then expect to not be made over. Seriously. Just don’t. And don’t give the lady you're paying to help you attitude.

6. Even though the NuvaRing commercial says “hormonal vaginal ring,” this does not mean that the vaginal ring is hormonal and will suddenly start a fight with your no no place about the lack of light it sees when in use.

7. Aunt Bev buys the best presents ever. As proof I will provide the below ill centered picture so that you can see what the present she bought me allowed me to be able to make. The pictures inside the frame, I totally made those thanks to her.

8. The guys on Supernatural really are that hot. In case you’ve forgotten, we have this example and this one.

9. I do not have the maturity level necessary to watch the Olympics. Every time someone correctly pronounces the name of an athlete from another country, I find a way to realize just how dirty it sounds.

10. Criminal Minds is a really good show. When you finally catch up on all five seasons, you suddenly have complete Criminal Minds withdrawal. It sucks.

That’s all I have for today, folks. I will leave you with something I wrote for my Grandma the day she passed and had intended on posting. Since then I have found out many things about her that have made me question everything I knew about her, but I have decided to post this anyway in hopes that someone can relate to the truth you feel just hours after learning someone has passed.

Oh, and btw, I know this layout is ugly. I'm working on it.

Someone else’s tragedy is always far more romantic than your own. That’s a lesson the movies won’t teach you and that you have to learn on your own. Too bad I already knew that.

My gram passed away this morning. I made the phone calls. No matter how many times I explained whose granddaughter I was, and then followed those words with “she passed away,” it still doesn’t seem real. I’m in total shock, but the funny thing about shock is that your body begins to respond to the stupidest things. Instead of crying, I find myself frustrated every time someone goes “but I just talked to her the other day.” And there wasn’t one person who didn’t announce this to me. In a moment, anything can change.

She was a wonderful grandmother, and I spent my childhood looking up to her, playing with her, and she always chased me around the kitchen island. I will always remember that. She gave me the gift of amazing memories, and warm love. Even though she’s gone, those things will never fade.

She was a mother to others, and even those who didn’t have a mother of their own. She took in everyone and was a great friend. Or, like my great aunt told me, “she was like my sister.” I like to think a lot of people will remember her that way.

So here’s to you, Laura: Grandma, Mother, Sister and Friend. You are now at peace, free from any pain and suffering. You will walk amongst the clouds with those that have been lost before you, but at the end of everything, you will be reunited with your one true love. In life and straight through to death, love is all that matters.

Touched By the Charming Kind

Today I received an e-mail that touched me as well as tugged on my heart strings. It really made me think with my heart and emotions about how little things that I do touch or inspire others. I don't think about it at the time, I only do what works and feels right for me, and for the situation, never thinking of the impact it might have on those not involved, or even the one other person involved, although I try to make things easiest for both parties. I just try to do what's right, and if that gives someone some kind of hope, then I am charmed to know this, so lucky, because it touches me right back. I'm doing something pretty okay.

For the sake of moving this little doggy of a blog right on along, I will start with yesterday and gleefully move forward, hopefully making this a semi short blog, as I don't think there's a whole lot to report.

Yesterday's wake up was way later than intended by a bunch of hours, so many so that we won't even discuss it, but we all know how this goes. I think I did so much of nothing yesterday for the sake of not feeling well, that I can't even remember what I did, which is vastly pathetic. I'm trying to think back about the excitement of the day, yet all I'm remembering are window stickies being made. I still need to take pictures of the ones I finished, as they're super sexy and cute.

I'm going to refer to my Twitter for random and fun points of the day, as window stickies take forever to make and I really do think that's what I spent most of the day doing. I'm a loser, but a crafty one.

My mom had a discussion with herself about couples that don't look right together. I can't remember what sparked this, and maybe that's a good thing. I did not want involved, because if people are in love, they're in love. Oh wait, side note, I do know what sparked it. There was an E-Harmony commercial where one person was black and the other white, and she decided they didn't make a couple. Umm...I just can't even imagine looking at two people and noticing color above all else. I think it's horrible. People are people...period. If they are happy in love, then they have one more thing than I do, so if anything, I'm envious of them, not criticizing them. Maybe my mom's jealous? I don't know, but I'd like to think that to be it over her being racist, but I know she can be sometimes, and it's then when I wonder how we're even related.

I also apparently felt "funky monkey, nananana," yesterday. Okay then.

I also find that I quoted That 70's Show several times in my Twitter yesterday, so let me just run right over those while I'm at it. Love That 70's Show.

Let's start with this little gem first. Eric Forman and his sister Laurie often fight, and in this episode Laurie was trying to get Eric in trouble for something in front of their parents. I can't remember the exact situation, but Eric ended up turning it around and getting her in trouble right back, which ended in him saying, "There's a good side to this; I took her down with me." Hyde responds with a "good job." No one likes Laurie.

There's also a piece in one of the episodes where Kitty is sitting in front of the television with Red and daydreaming about having the perfect family that doesn't argue and everyone gets along. While sitting there, she is flipping through the television channels and comes across The Brady Bunch Variety Hour. Red responds with "Oh, who the hell gave those people an entire hour?" Red puts up with so much of the show and then gets up, exclaiming "Oh, this show is crap." Kitty wanted to like the show since she had put it on and continued to watch it for a few seconds before going "Oh no, this is crap." So true for The Brady Bunch Variety Hour...so true. Nail on head, baby!

In another episode, (because I watched eight on this particular day, as it was on for noise while I was making my window stickies) Kitty was telling Red what a bad idea it is for them to have parties since he always causes some kind of issue. She then mentions how, at the last party, he called the cops and had every body's car towed. He responded with "Drunk people looking for their cars. That was funny!" I happen to agree with that, which is what I love about Red. He's tough, he's overbearing, but in the end he goes for the funny in a sadistic way, and it's just way too good. I have the same sense of humor as him and I also like to say dumbass.

I took a break from That 70's show between episodes to listen to the news. The biggest story of the day both shocked me and made me laugh. I will explain this the best as I can so that you can see I am not a sadistic creep. Let me just tell you the gist of the story, then I'll explain. Five kids fell of a cliff, one by one.....

This leaves me wondering how this happens.

This is the full story: Five kids were hiking on a trail when this happened. The news channel showed the trail and it was a good ten to fifteen feet from the cliff. The kids were in their early teens, old enough to know not to go near a cliff, and also being supervised by an adult. Now, being that they were supposedly on the trail, there's no way they could have just fallen over the cliff with the trail being so far away, so they had to be screwing around when this happened. What I don't understand is how, if one kid went over, the other four ended up going over as well as they literally fell over one at a time over a couple minute period. Then, to top it off, the guardian that was with them never fell over the cliff. The kids are fine, by the way, just a little scraped up. I think I'm sensing a whole lot of stupid, but I'm not sure, as I wasn't there. Either way, epic fail.

Yesterday was also "Won't You Be My Neighbor Day" as I previously mentioned in the blog before. I did not wear my sweater, as I didn't want to get it dirty with the window sticky paint, however I figured something out. I will not be your neighbor if you are going to be a pain in the ass neighbor. If only we could pick our neighbors, how awesome would that be? I certainly wouldn't be stuck with my doo hickey's of neighbors, that's for sure. And yes, doo hickeys. Gosh, you can tell I'm from Western Pennsylvania.

Today I had a lot on my plate as far as things to do, and places I had to go, but long story short, I failed. The basis of the day revolved around the fact that I needed to get my vitamin D prescription filled. Since I was doing that, my mom figured, since we're down to one car, that she would come with me. She's starting her new job on the 31st, and she needed to get pants and shoes for said job. While we were out, I also wanted to stop at Hot Topic and pick up Twilight since I am short on money but have a Hot Topic gift card. Okay, I'm flat broke and if I wanted the DVD, that was the only way I was paying for it. With this in mind, off we went.

We decided to go to the mall first, since, direction wise, it made more sense and was more efficient. On our way to the mall we were winding up some residential roads and passed what I think may have been a volunteer fire department, or something of the sort, but either way, it served beer and wasn't afraid to advertise that. As we were going past, a man who was probably in his early sixties came staggering out, obviously on a bender, as he swerved and tripped over his own feet. It was 4:20 in the afternoon. Gotta love Pennsylvania. He then proceeded to cross the street behind us. I couldn't look. Thank God he had a friend with him.

I learned one very important thing today. If you buy DVD's at Hot Topic, they will run you more money, however you get a bunch of really super cool extra stuff with the DVD that they don't advertise you get and is exclusive to Hot Topic and limited. I've decided to sale the stuff that came with the DVD and hopefully make some money off of it. It's not like I technically paid for the DVD anyway since it was on a gift card, but I guess it's still the principle of paying more.

We headed to Hallmark and then over to Wal-Mart after that. I opened up my purse to grab my prescription but it was not there, defeating the entire purpose of the trip. I racked my brain for where it could have gone, as both my mom and I saw me put it into my purse. (Well, of course I saw myself.) We were confused, but I later came home to realize that I had stuck it in there, and took something else out. It got stuck to what I took out, and being that I was sort of out of it and not paying so much attention, I didn't realize this. It was my fault and an oversight on my part, but it's okay because my mom has to take her shoes back, so we'd be making two trips anyway. It all worked out.

After a big fiasco involving coupons and Ensure, we made our way out to the car. I got into my purse to pull out my phone and check for texts, only to see that Becky had texted me. The text basically read that "Crazy girl likes Patrick, so I put them next to each other on register. I'm amused." I was amused too. I'm just imagining Patrick's reaction to this. I'm sure he was not happy, and everyone was teasing him about when the wedding between the two would be since obviously he's a little scared of the girl and it drove him nuts. Score for Becky being his manager and telling him where to stand on register! Win!

Also, this Wal-Mart is becoming a pain in the ass. They're not taking stuff back that they sold and is defective, and are refusing perfectly good coupons. They're the better stocked store, but as of late, my bad experiences with them have not made me want to go there anymore, but oh, I will as Becky and Patrick work there and are easy and fun to harass. I have no life.

After Wallie World, we ate at Arby's and went to PetSmart. The shelter where I got Greta was there trying to get some of their dogs adopted, so I went into their trailer to look at all the cute puppies and kitties, and ended up getting talked up by one of the slightly nerdy, but nice young men that volunteer there. While we were talking, I mentioned that I had adopted Greta there and explained which puppy she was. I've learned that she's well remembered as she was in the only group of Chow puppies they got in last year, and she was the only brown one in a group of white ones. Turns out, she was this kids favorite puppy and he wanted to adopt her and I beat him to it. Ah HA! I'm not sorry I beat him to it. He's missing out on one awesome dog, but I did promise to bring her up so that he could play with her and see her. I think she'll like that.

After PetSmart we went to Target. There's not really anything to report about the actual shopping experience, except there was this one amazing thing that happened before we even got in the store, and I appreciated the funny a little too much. I've learned that if you watch people long enough, eventually one or two of them will do something epic and you'll laugh for days. This was one of those times and I wasn't even watching for anything.

While driving towards the store to find a parking space, there was a dad and his little girl who was probably about five or six, walking out of the store. The sidewalk outside of the store is a little bumpy and on a slant. At the end of that slant is the road, so naturally he bent down and grabbed onto her hand, presumably to keep her from going out on the road and keep her from falling. He tripped over his own feet and fell. She had to help him up. Yep.

After that I came home and worked rigorously on window stickies, always forgetting how much time they actually take up. My mom turned on the show The Locator while I was doing this. I have a love / hate relationship with Troy Dunn, the man who is "The Locator." I think he is truly doing God's work by reuniting people with lost loved ones, but not forcing said lost loved one to reunite if they can't handle it. He's gentle, kind, patient, caring, and he does an amazing job, taking the television show so he could help people for free, as it becomes costly for him to fly around the nation looking for people and he must charge the client's bill for this. With the television show, that bill is footed for those whose stories make it on TV and that's kind of nice, because people who couldn't otherwise afford to do this, now can. This is the love part. The hate part is that he always makes me cry like a little baby when he reunites, or sometimes does not reunite, people. When he is able to do it, it's incredibly heart warming!

When all the stickies were properly hidden away and drying, and only then, I got online. My friend Kelly IMed me, using several more vowels than were necessary to really kick punch the point across. I replied just the same, with exclamation points and everything. I love our overzealous use of vowels. I also love that this reminds me of a girl I used to work with at Best Buy. When she was talking and really excited, at the end of the sentence, she would yell EXCLAMATION POINT! Okay, not really yell as much as say with excitement and sarcasm both at once. Oh, how I miss her and her awesome. Sometimes, she would even speak of periods and question marks. You can't buy that kind of awesome in a store.

Becky also sent me a video from Smosh.com of these two men in blue unitards. I'm so not adding this link. You can go look for it yourself, as it's just too scary. I realized that, unless you're a dancer, unitards are a retarded form of clothing. This is no offense to anyone who is mentally challenged, as I've learned people who are tend to be the nicest, most thoughtful and caring people ever. Unitards however, are thoughtful and caring to nothing. And boys...should never wear them. Period. And thanks in advance.

Becky was also telling me about this guy she works with who stalks her and I need to add this note on my blog. Guys, you can not stalk girls. It makes them not like you. If I need to produce a clothing line stating this fact, then I am okay with doing that and handing them out pro bono. This also goes for girls who stalk guys. It's just not cool, you will end up a forty year old virgin that way, and you will never get the person you really think you want. It's also illegal in fifty states and the District of Columbia. Keep this in mind next time you think someone is hot and you will just "follow them around." No.

Twilight came out today, as I mentioned before, and as I also mentioned, I got cool stuff that I want to sale, with the DVD at Hot Topic. One of those things was an Edward film cell. Kelly asked me what it was and this was my exact explanation. "It's like some picture card with words thingy." First of all, those would be called trading cards, note to self. Second, could I have made myself sound any more like an incoherent and under schooled twat? I'm not stupid, I promise, but sometimes the things I say reach levels of stupid that even shock me. If you don't laugh at yourself though, then what's the point in life?

With all these tidbits, I shall leave you with two new songs to fuck your ears with, long and slow in the most passionate of ways.

Yesterday's song: I think I'll go with Decode by Paramore, off of the Twilight Soundtrack. I even have the actual video to post. Since this post contained a whole lot of Twilight, I figured I'd go with that song, since I kept hearing it in commercials promoting the midnight release of Twilight yesterday. Every time I heard it I started singing, my head snapped up, and I got excited for the release. I also really love Paramore, so epic win all around.

Todays song: Hey Stephen by Taylor Swift, off of her sophmore album, Fearless. I've linked this several times, so I won't bother to do so again. I am particularly romanced by the lines "All those other girls, well they're beautiful, but would they write a song for you?" There's so many times where I've thought that, where I've written songs for a boy and wondered why we were just still friends, because I cared enough to do that when the girl he was looking at would never even want to care enough to try. I think we all feel that way sometimes, but that's not really what the whole song is about. It's just romantic.

Crazy, Random, Happenstance

Wow, I've sucked consistently for two days, and haven't posted in technically three, but I'm making up for that now. I am disappointed, but in my defense, I have been too tired to actually think out a semi intelligent post. I've done everything and nothing in the past two days. My progress on things I actually need to do has been fantastic, but the progress on things I bought to entertain myself in my time of sickness is sub-par.

For example, I knew quite awhile back that I wasn't going to be allowed to work for a long time and would be hauled up in the house. Knowing this, I decided to take advantage of a huge sale at Joann Fabrics, seeing as I am crafty and what not. I got almost $300 in fabric for around $78 and it was all fabric that I needed in order to complete projects I had in mind. I also got everything else I could think of for backup and other accouterments to complete said projects so I didn't have to go back out again. I figured I could knock out every single project that I had on my to do list while home and it would give me something to do so that I wasn't bored. Wrong!

I got about twenty seven percent of my projects done, but realized that sewing when I am as dizzy as I am, isn't exactly the easiest thing ever. I figured that if I could walk cautiously, that surely I could sew, but the precision that sewing requires isn't allowing me to get too incredibly far, therefore I am still bored, and still wanting to sew. I have pillows to sew covers for, several sets of curtains, a dog bed, a runner for the fireplace, and several other things that I can not remember. I am disappointed and hope to get back to sewing again soon.

Also, I acquired vintage 1950's dresses along with four 1950's purses when my moms friend had a yard sale to clear her mother's house of all its stuff, since her mom had passed and the house needed sold. I want to hem the 1950's dresses and fix them to look a little more modern, and remove the shoulder pads, without taking away from the vintage-ness of them. Summer is coming and I haven't been able to do that either, and I so desperately want to. When I do finally get this stuff done, I'll take pictures of it and post them on here.

In my two years that I worked at Hallmark, I collected a bunch of photo albums and scrapbooks, all the coveted Hallmark brand, and all on sale for two dollars or less. I have over a thousand pictures just helter-skelter in a big box, where they are sorted, but unhappy. I wanted to piece together my photo albums and scrapbooks while I was home and bored. Guess what, I failed there too.

I still have time, lots and lots of time, but it sucks when I feel so terrible that I can't even do crafting projects that require sitting and precision. I know I have about a billion other crafting projects to do, but I can't even think of what they are right now. If I went in my closet where everything is compulsively organized, I know it would all come back to me quickly, which is why I'm not going to do that.

Speaking of things I'm not getting done, my novel has made it on that list. Right now, I'm really content and excited about one story more than the others, so I was working very diligently on it, except I haven't touched it in two days. I've been too exhausted. I'm hoping once I'm done typing out this blog that I will actually go ahead and work on it, but seeing as it's going on 11:30 at night, I don't know if it's going to happen.

Now, I know what you're thinking and NOT because I'm psychic, like people, for whatever reason, seem to think. (True story.) Why am I writing a less important blog when I could be writing my novel, something I'm passionate about? Simple. This blog was made not only for others to read, but mostly to keep a journal of my days as I'm going through being sick and in a somewhat bad way. I want to be able to look back once I get better and always remember how fortunate I am to be well, and grateful for every day that's been given to me. It's important to me to do this, and I want to log the last three days into here before I forget the small, fun things, as well as the really important ones. Besides, I have nothing to do tomorrow unless I actually work on my crafting projects, so I can hide out in my room and work on my novel. Maybe I just will.

This is going to be a long post in order for me to fit everything in, so I will just start at the beginning, stop several times to think and look at my list which has noted everything I want to add in here, and go from there.

Thursday, I had to go and have my blood taken. I woke up at an ungodly hour from an unusually deep sleep and we headed up to the university medical center in rush hour traffic. Fun stuff. On our way there we happened to be stopped at a red light when I looked out my window and caught a glimpse of a rather odd site; a digital church sign. Upon reading it like I instinctively do with all signs, I noticed that it had spelled the word hospitality as hospitilatiy. Not only is there a spellcheck key in your computer when you are programming it for digital signs (eh hem F7), but that is one of those rare words that's spelled the same as it phonetically sounds. I wish I would have taken a picture with my Sidekick, but alas I did not. I am going back up there next Friday and will pass the same church. I will have my phone ready, and if the sign still reads the same, I promise a picture from the car. If I have to get out to take the picture though, all bets are off as the neighborhood is a really bad one.

A short note to the church in Wilkinsburg: The word hospitality is NOT spelt hospitilatiy. Thank you. (Just in case anyone from that church would come across this blog.)

I made it to the hospital and had my blood drawn. The one blood test required me to lay flat and relax for twenty minutes to a half hour before they pulled my blood, however the nurse got busy and it ended up being more like forty minutes. On a good note, they only took ten tubes of blood instead of sixteen. Isn't it sad when "only" ten tubes of blood is a good note?

Also, I had to collect all my blood results from all my doctors, which are in the same complex, but it was still going to be time consuming. I needed the results for an appointment with my PCP who is NOT in the same group as the rest of my doctors, meaning he can't access the computer system with all my results already in it like they can. I made my way to the closest doctors office after getting my blood pulled and she got in the computer and printed out all of my blood tests results from all my doctors instead of making me go to all of my doctors separately. I love her in a totally platonic way. Thank you Jamie the receptionist!

I had told the endocrinologist, who had the blood pulled on Thursday, that I was trying to get all of my blood test results back for Monday, in passing, knowing that there would be no possible way for the blood testing I was doing that day to be processed and reported on by Monday. Today, I got an e-mail linking me to a page that had test results from my urine analysis and two of my blood test results on it. This is Saturday and my doctor is a saint. Even though two tests are barely every single one of them, it is still something and it is still more than appreciated. I didn't expect to have ANY test results for two weeks. I have been fortunate to have the caring doctors that I do, especially after going through the less than caring ones that I have, and I am thankful, grateful, and humbled.

After leaving the hospital, my mom at the wheel since usually I feel pretty lightheaded and gross after having blood pulled, we started towards home. At this point it was around 10:30 and I was still feeling pretty okay, until about halfway there. Excuse my lack of creativity and story telling tonight. I became pretty pissed off at myself as I promised my grandmother that we'd stop for lunch at her place on the way home, because all I wanted to do was go home at that point. She lives about a half an hour from me and I literally have to pass her house to get home from where I was. She had been bugging us to do lunch, so it seemed like a good compromise and I did manage to stay awake the entire time and not get sick...somehow.

While at lunch in the cafeteria with around thirty people who were all aged over seventy, I had turned my ringer on my cell phone up so I would hear it, as I was awaiting a call back from a doctor, which I have not yet gotten. I felt badly for leaving my phone on and semi loud in the middle of a cafeteria, but if I missed the call, it was unlikely that I'd be able to get a hold of the doctor again for several days. About a third of the way through lunch, I realized my ring tone is the chorus to But It's Better If You Do (Brendon's ass looks amazing in these pants, no? And those lips, my god child.) by Panic at the Disco (do I really need to link them again?). Enough said.

We made it home and I had planned on sleeping, however, about a half an hour after getting home our power went out, which is always a worry around here. We have issues with our power going out every time we blink and often staying out for a few days, as the power company usually fixes our road last. The last time our power went out, there were two downed power lines and despite calling them in, they were left in the middle of the road for three days. Everything aside though, losing power wouldn't be so bad except it's cold out, and we have well water, leaving us without water when we don't have power. We can't even flush our toilets people. Our power did come back on, and when it did we were told that the power company took our power out on purpose to test or fix something or another. They told us this AFTER it was back on. Thanks Allegheny Power. Your dickwadness continues to shock and amaze me.

I spent the rest of the evening so tired that I couldn't actually sleep, and watching re-runs of That 70's Show. I could comment on my love for that show for hours, but I will spare everyone.

Over the past week I've done a lot of thinking. I love Becky 1 for a lot of reasons and we've known each other for so long. In one way, I'm just done with her, and in another I know that I'll miss her because we have so much fun together. I decided that I was going to continue to remain friends with her, but not piss around either. When I ask her what time she wants to do something and she repeatedly doesn't answer me, I won't wait around until she figures out a time and then go with her. I will do what I want and need to do, and if she fits in my day, that's fine. She can't commit to a thing, which makes it hard to get together with her. I also will not go out of my way to plan anything for her, as it's a waste. We'll see how this works out. I figure if I'm not doing anything exclusively on her terms, then it won't be so bad. Those may be famous last words.

Thursday night we were texting, and I feel the need to share the contents of the texts which I have saved for this occasion. To set up the conversation, we were talking about going to see a movie a night just to get out of the house for awhile, and with the huge drop in movie ticket prices that occurred recently, we can actually afford to go. We were discussing which movie to go and see, and here's what happened. Also note that any of my current comments are in parenthesis.

Me: OMG, WE SHOULD SEE THE JONAS BROTHERS MOVIE! I'm sorry, I had to. (Neither of us are JBro fans. We also do not have anything against them. It's personal preference, nothing more, nothing less.)

Becky 1: Buhahaha. I'd do it to mock it, but only on an off day without the teens and tweens. (Nothing against teens and tweens, respectively.)

Me: I would too, sadly. I would like to see Taylor Swift's (do I really need to link her again too?) portion. OMG, watch, we'd go and like it.

Becky 1: I'm afraid of that.

Me: I am too. So what we're saying is we're afraid to see the Jonas Brothers movie, not because we hate them, but because we're afraid we might like them.

Becky 1: Err...yes.

Me: Oh.my.God. Okay, screw the movie. We're going to a strip club.

Becky 1: Lol!

Me: No, I'm serious. We are pathetic. We need to stare at men and not be afraid of the Jonas Brothers concert.

Hopefully we will pick a day to stare at some hot ass soon. Seriously, we need to, which is painfully obvious.

In other news, I slept a lot yesterday, and when I say a lot, I mean a lot. I had ninety two things to do. My day was supposed to go this way. Get up, get dressed, get gas, pay bill, take papers to County Assistance Office, take my mom to three places nearby to put in job applications since I was up that way, go to mall, come home and change, meet Becky 1 for a 3:30 lunch.

My day actually went this way. Get up at 1:30, help mom with computer as she barely can figure out how to turn it on, rush around to get ready, get gas, pay bill, go to county assistance office, and pull in three minutes late to meet Becky 1. In my defense, I was up in the morning, but was too sick to keep going and had to lay down. This happens a lot.

Becky 1 and I ate at a place called Smokey Bones. (The Jonas Brother's website is far less annoying than theirs, I've learned.) I realized that while we were eating, our phones were both out on the table and we were texting, and sadly, we even texted each other once. Pathetic. This is normal for us, however we barely had anything to talk about. It felt very weird and I'm wondering if we are just simply growing apart, but I don't know. Time will tell. I also realized that if I'm around she and Patrick, who also used to be a friend of mine, it's just weird. They're in their own little world. (Thank you for giving me the finger Patrick, just for driving past you. I will get you back.)

The rest of the day was devoid of pretty much anything exciting except I got Greta Hayley cookies, failed at everything else miserably, and was exhausted. Oh, except I realized my PCP's office set me up with the wrong PCP. Being that I had never met my new PCP at the time when I first saw him, and that he only had his last name on his lab coat, and it was the same name as the doctor I was supposed to have, I didn't realize this until yesterday. I had to call the insurance company and make sure they would cover if the doctors office fucked and set me up with the wrong doctor after I asked for the doctor on my insurance card specifically by first and last name. They said since they were in the same practice they would cover it and I could stay with the PCP I have if I like him. I do.

Today seemed a lot like yesterday, only a whole lot more fail. Imagine that. Originally today was supposed to go this way. Get up, spend the day with Alex, and then have an early dinner with Becky 1 on my two for one coupon for Fridays. My day went nothing at all like this, and I saw neither Alex nor Becky 1. In fact, I did a lot of looking at my mom. I'm seeing a pattern. I'm also seeing myself having a really loud conversation with the neighbors if they do not stop jacking my internet.

Neither Alex nor I could seem to make plans, and I didn't see a point of driving a half hour to his house where everything was closed, as its spring break and he's on a college campus, only to stare at each other and have a long conversation about what we were going to do. I texted him and told him this, but apparently he didn't get them and I think he's slightly upset with me. I sent him more than one text. I feel bad, but there's nothing I can do. I sent said texts and left it at that. I'm not one for really making phone calls, but when texting is good enough, why waste precious minutes when I have unlimited text? Besides, if he was that concerned, he could have called me, but did not.

Becky 1 was supposed to let me know what she was doing as far as dinner sometime this morning, and if she had to take her car to the dealer today or not. She did not let me know, and even after I knew I wasn't hanging out with Alex, I asked her again and got an "I don't know." My mom and I both needed to go to the same place today, so I decided with to just go with her. Therefore, when Becky did decide a time, I was occupied. No, I don't feel bad. You can only ask someone for an answer so many times, and when they don't give you one, you can't sit around and wait for them.

Today made me wonder one thing. Why are all headbands being made now very 1980's? I can not put that on my head. No offense 80's, but you're just not my friend and this is 2009.

Now, for the random comment portion of this blog. I'm sure I missed a bunch of things I wanted to add in here, but I'm going to hit all the random points.

Did you know that there's a place in New Zealand called Tutukaka. It's pronounced exactly how you would think it is.

I was told today that David Arquette (Courteney Cox's husband) now has a clothing line and gave one of the shirts from it to the incomparable Ellen Degeneres on her show yesterday. On the front it says "once upon a time," and on the back it reads "happily ever after." Becky 1 wants to know why she would want a shirt that said that. I want to know if I made a shirt that said "We wish you a merry," On the front and "fourth of July" on the back if it would cover all basis and sell well.

Becky 1 was not impressed by Fall Out Boy on Ellen Friday, whereas we both usually are. She said Patrick was hard to understand. Patrick Stump is sometimes quite tough to understand, but normally phenomenal. Bummer. Pete also did nothing but wander the stage and forget to sing back up vocals. Sadly, I think this is what makes Pete Wentz (husband and baby daddy to Ashlee Simpson-Wentz) who he is, but you can't help but love him for it most of the time. (I said most, not all.)

There was a guest on Ellen yesterday that had a shirt that said "Lv Grn." Becky 1 pointed out that it made her want to make a shirt that said "use vowels." (The "use vowels" shirt is copyright of Miss Becky 1. Take it and lose a limb.) I think she should. I think people would buy the hell out of them, especially with the texting epidemic that has gotten into everyone.

Since I haven't posted in three days, I shall add three songs according to what song each day reminded me of, and what I found myself singing that day. I know I was singing the whole way up and back from the hospital Thursday, I just have to think of what song it was that I was singing.

Thursday's song will be Franklin by the band Paramore from their first album All We Know Is Falling. I couldn't stop singing the ending to the song. So lovely. Hayley Williams has one of the most unique and refreshing voices that I've heard in a long time. Also, her style rocks.

Friday's songs was definitely Candles by Hey Monday off of their first album Hold On Tight. Beautiful song and I think all woman can relate to it in one way or another.

I don't think I've run around singing anything today, but knowing me I was singing and didn't know it. Wait, I lie, I spent ten minutes in Hot Topic singing Elephants by Rachel Yamagata off of her double album Elephants/Teeth Sinking Into Heart. (Elephants is the opening song her website if you'd like to hear the recorded version, but I wanted to add her live.) She is truly a unique talent. I've seen her live before and I have to say she is the best female artists I've had the pleasure of witnessing the sharing of their gift.
